Matt and I were together for 10 wonderful years - met in 1998, married in 2002, until his untimely death on November 15, 2008. We have two beautiful, healthy children - Jacob (born 5/04) and Sydney (born 5/07)... the most precious gifts he could have ever given me.

The Potty Train

Sydney announced yesterday that she doesn't want to wear diapers anymore, so we were going to start full steam ahead this week with no more diapers... only, she also announced yesterday that she was sick.

She's had a little dry cough the past week, but thought she was getting over it - I just chalked it up to all the pollen in the air right now. Yesterday it started sounding a lot more wet and productive, and I also noticed her appetite was going down.

It seemed to get worse after we left our friend's birthday party, so first thing this morning I called the pediatrician. Sure enough, she's got a sinus infection. No fever, surprisingly. I should have known it was coming - she's usually a couple steps behind her brother, and he just finished his second round of antibiotics for his sinus infection (he's finally in the clear - for the time being, anyway).

The ped said it probably wouldn't be a good week to try to potty train her since she's coughing, so we're on hold with that until her cough is gone.

It's so funny, though - anytime she talks about going pee pee on the potty or anything to do with that, she calls it the Potty Train!

Right now it's after 1am, and she had just woken up with a sore hiney from the wonderful side effects of the antibiotics. Thought we at least had one full day before that kicked in... It's gonna be another long night.

It's been awhile since I have been here. I am catching up on all your blogs at once..sorry :(
It's good you waited to let Sydney decide when SHE was ready to start potty training. It will be alot quicker and smoother.
As far as Matt's Co. not holding up their end og=f the bargain on Compensation; they cannot do that. They have to provide you finacially until the kids are at least 18. If I were you, I would sue and ask for a lump sum. A large amount that would equal close to what they would have paid over the years. You can put that in escrow and live off the interest. That way, you are secure and don't have to worry about ever losing that income.
As for opening your own business... YOU GO GIRL! You know I envy everything you do. You are my idol in every way. You will succeed no matter what! You are intelligent and confident, the two main ingredients for success in starting a business. Good luck in everything! Shannon
